. Sir Robert Stout, Administrator of the Government, leaves Wellington to-day for Auckland, where he will receive the Governor-Designate, Lord Liverpool, on Wednesday. •.'.■. All the Cabinet Ministers, with the exception of the Hon. Dr. 'Pomare, who left for Hawera on Saturday, are in Wellington to-day. The Hon. H. D. Bell and the Hon. A. L. Herdman returned from the south yesterday. It is just possible that the Prime Minister, the Hon. W. •]?. Massey, will leave for Auckland to-night, to be there in time to meet the newGovernor, the Barl of Liverpool, on/Wednesday. The Hon.' I\ M. B. Fisher is also to be in Auckland when Lord Liverpool arrives. The Hon. A. L. Herdman, Minister for Justice, will visit Auokland early next month. He will also visit the prison treeplanting camps at Waipaand Waiotapu. On Saturday afternoon the death occurred of Mr. Michael Hamilton, a very old and respected resident of Petone. Deceased, who was 8i years of age,-took part in the American Civil War. He had resided in Petone for twenty-fivo years. Mr. J. A. Young, M.P. for Waikato, was at Auckland on Saturday last to attend th© funeral of his only sister, who passed away on Thursday after a brief illness. Mr. A. J. Patrick, a capable young, actor, who has been with the firm of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., for several years, leaves for Auckland to-day en route for America, where he intends to try his luck 'on the stage. He will sail from Auckland for Vancouver by .the Mnrama on December 20. Mr. Grainier, secretary of the South Taranaki Shipping Company, arrived in Wellington from Patea on Saturday afternoon on a short business visit. . Mr. P. W. Eily, of Timaru, returned to New Zealand after a trip abroad on Saturday. Mr. G. M. Kebbell, of Wellington, returned from a visit to the Old Country by the Ruapehu on Saturday. Mr. C. W. Nicoll, of. Ashburton,. was a passenger from London to Wellington by the Ruapehu, which arrived in- port on Saturday evening. Mr. G. Smart, superintending engineer for the Union Company, returned from London by the Ruapehu on Saturday... • Mr. P. L. Wright, of tho firm of Wright, Stevenson, and Co., Duriedin, was a passenger from London on.Saturday, by tho Ruapehu. In nddition to the list of passengers already published, Mr.- G. Ruthorland joined tho Ruapehu at Hobart, and Mr. \Y. H. Thompson at Cape Town. The members of the Wellington Orphans' Club are to make a .presentation to Dr. Arnold Izard, at the Grand Hotel, at 5.15 p.m. to-day, in view of his approaching departure for Tonga, where ho has boon appointed Chief Government Medical Officer.
