The' Reserves Committeo of the Cit) Council received 30 quotations for th< position ; f forester, and after: consideration of the applications, this number was reduced to two. Last evening the recommendation of the committee was placed before tho council, and as a-result Mr. John M'Pherson, of Mastcrton, has been finally appointed to 'the position. The other applicant in the final selection was Mr.' B. Hill, of Auckland.
