ORGAN RECITAL & CONCERT.

The anniversary celebrations of the Sydney Street Primitive Methodist-., Church were continued last evening, when'.an organ recital and .concert,'.'.unaer tie direction of Mr. A'.'. E.-Carter, S.Mus., T.C.L., was successfully: held,;, there being-a.very large-audience present. Mr. Carter, .who mauipulated the organ in a most pleasing, and masterly manner, rendered the organ solos "War March' of the Priests" (Atlialie), "Cavalieria Rusticaiia" .(Mascagm), "Triumphal March" (Rathbun), "Hallelujah Chorus," "Hearts Melodv" (Epgelmann), "Melody at Twilight" (Atherton), "Moonbeams" (VVorthington), "By Moonlight" (Astenius), "Mendelssohn's Consolation," and '"Vienna March." The aforegoing were interspersed with vocal solos by Madame Mueller, who contributed "The Cross"; Mrs. W. B. Willis "The Lord's Prayer" (A. E- Carter); Mr; A. Oakey, "The Lord Worketh Wonders ; and a vocal duet by Madame Mueller and Mrs. Willis, "Pulaski's Banner." _ In submitting the annual report, the Rev. P. J. Co'ssum (chairman) stated that in addition to the amounts received for home missions, the income from all other sources had amounted to .£315. The Sunday School had progressed most favourably, whilst the Mutual lihprovement Society had a most successful session. Reference wus also made to officers and members who had in the past year rendered loyal and faithful service. The, Rev. W. S. Potter gave a short address in a reminiscent manner, and also appealed to members to strive for high ideals in the future work of the United Church. - During the evening, Mr. M. Murdoch (circuit steward), on behalf of the officials and congregation, presented to Miss Jean Nicholas handsome tokens of esteem for tho valuable and faithful services rendered as church organist during the past three years. . •,.,-■ Before dispersing the ladies of the congregation provided refreshments, thus terminating a most enjoyable anniversary.
