9 GREGORY DEMANDS AN INQUIRY. Br l'eleeraph—Proßs Association—Copyrittlii Sydney, December 9. Mr. Syd. Gregory, captain of tho Australian team, has declined to discuss the allegations regarding the conduct of the members of the team. He said he hoped the Beard of Control would hold an inquiry, which should be a public one, and go fully into, tho charges. Failing that, he says he will make a full statement. INVESTIGATION TO BE HELD. (Rec. December 9, 9.20 p.m.) Melbourne, December 9. The Board of Cricket Control has appointed a sub-committee to inquire into the charges against members of the Test Match team. Tho board has asked Mr. Crouch to supplement the report he presented at the annual meeting, and on tho strength of this supplementary report decided to investigate the matter thoroughly. Mr. Crouch's complaints against certain. members are said to lie definite, and, it is understood, will Ira substantiated by statutory declarations. . Other members of the sub-committee held a meeting in private, and decided to obtain statements from tie players. There will probably be a special meeting of the board later to deal , with the matter.
