STRIKE ON BRITISH RAILWAYS.
4 , NORTH-EASTERN SERVICE CURTAILED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, December 8. Three thousand men are striking on the North-Eastern Company's railway. The service is curtailed by half. Several collieries have also threatened a stoppage. The cause of the strike on the NorthEastern Railway was the reducing of a driver named Knox. Several meetings of employees resolved to strike until Knox was reinstated. The men resist any interference in the private lives of their ; fellow workmen.
