MENTION BY DEAN O'SHEA. Pahiatua, December 9. At the new Pahiatua Convent on Sunday, referring to religious education, Dean O'Shea declared that the foundation of all true moral training was religious education. Ho declared that so long as tho present system was recognised Roman Catholics were prepared to build their own schools and make any sacrifices for their faith, a faith which thev had received as a priceless heritage from their forefathers. Tho speaker alluded to tho Bible-in-Schools League, which, he said, was a very powerful and active body, whoso aim was to introduce a Bible textbook into the State schools. It would only bo another form of sectarianism at the public expense, towards which Catholics would have to pay, and it would give a form of religion which would be ob* noriouß to them.
