THE SYDNEY CRACKS AT TE ABO. To-day's carnival at the Te Aro Baths promises to be a very interesting ©vent. The members of the Sydney team, who are competitors in' all the events, have been, in training since their arrival, and the visitors appear to be in form. It appears that the diver of the party—R>iddington—was not satisfied with the stationary high diving board at the baths, and so arrangements hav<) been mado whereby the height of the present structure has been increased by some 20ft. Most of the interest in to-day's carnival will be centred in the teams' relay raco of 200 yards. In this event the Thorndon Club's No. 1 team will start off the scratch mark with the Sydney team. Members of the Thorndon team are all able to do the 50yds. dash under SOsec., and therefore the event should prove exciting. The carnival, which is being hold under the auspices of the Wellington Swimming Centre, commences at 2.30 p.m. CIVIL SERVICE EACES.
