ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Insurance Institute of Wellington states that the session was opened by a presidential address followed by five other lectures of nil classes during the. session. The lectures were all exceedingly interesting and instructive and much appreciated by the members.. Fire classes were formed and the first held on June 7, at which 23 members attended. The Eervices of Mr. F. G. Gray as lecturer were secured. During tht> session n. circular was issued to the managers of companies, drawing their attention to the empty 'and otsoleto state of the library, and begging .support by subscription or presentation, ,in order that the library n.ny be restocked with modern nnd standard works. , The movement . met with liberal support, and the sum of £15 15s. 12s. of which has been collected besides a volume on "Fire Insurance," valued nt £1 Is. A statement of accounts is also appended, and shows a credit balance of i! 10 2s. 2d., after payment of all current expenses. The outstanding subscriptions for tho session amount to .£l3 9s. fid. The committee has made a careful selection of standard works pertaining to all classss of insurance, and the books are under order from London. It is hoped that members will take-full advantage of tho excellent opportunities which tlw library will offer. Most of the books are unobtainable in the Dominion.
