UNATTACHED OFFICERS.
ASSOCIATION FORMED. At a meeting of Unattached Officers, held in October at the orderly room, Buckle Street, it was decided to form an Unattached Officers' Association. A sot of rules, drawn up by a sub-committeo appointed for that purpose, was considered and formally odopte'd.' ' . ' The objects of the association are briefly as follow.:—To organise, and control nonmilitary matters such, as sports meetings and competitions in connection with the Senior Cadets in No. 5 Area Group; to promote the interchange of ideas and discussion of problems connected with Senior Cadet Training Organisation and Discipline; to promote, by holding of classes and reading of papers, the study of subjects pertaining to the duties of members: and to maintain the esprit de corps of all officers engaged in training the SenioT Cadots. ' . ' Th« following officers were elected:—,President, officers including No.. 5 Area Group (ex offtcio); vice-presidents, Major Matheson, Captains Greniesh and Simeon,and Lieutenant Pirani; committee, Captain M'Farlane, Lieutenants Brown, Cartor, Hugo; hon. secretary, Lieutenant Winder. , . It was resolved that a letter bo. sent to tho Quartermnster-General asking him to convey to his Excellency the Governor the thanks of the officers of the Unattached List (b) in Wellington and their sense of 1 the honour he has done them in allowing them to wear a portion of his crest and motto as a badge. -~.'■ The subscription for the current year was fixed at ss. The following sub-com-mittee has been .appointed for social functions: Captain Simeon, Lieutenants. Brown and Huro.
