Messrs. Dalgety and Qompany, Ltd., report as follows on their -stock sale hold at Waikanao on Tuesday:—We had a fair yarding of slisep, and a good entry of cattle, although, owing to the .inclement wether, stock did not come forward as advertised. The demand was not so keen, but we were successful in. disposing of all lines, except a few store cows; at the following prices:—Fat shorn ewes,'-165.; yearling steers, £3; 24-year : steers. £4 17s. -6d., to £5 55.; epriugiug- heifers, £7 10s.; bulls, to £3 ss. ■ "■:■'•■ . ;■■

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Marton sale, held this week:—We had a good entry of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle, and have" to report a total clearance, with the" exception of a few odd cattle, at prices satisfactory to vendors. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Seduced, roport having held their weekly sale in the Mangabao yards, Pahiatua, on Tuesday, when they offered a email yarding of sheep and cattle. Competition for all classes of stock was on a. par with previous sale, and resulted in a complete clearance at the' following rates :-Mixed hoggets, to 145.. 9d.; dairy cows at profit, to £10 10s.; other dairy cows, £4 10s. to £4 155.; cowa with calf at foot, £4 10s. to £4 17s. 6d.; store cows, £4 to £4 55.; yearling heifers, £3 to £3 7s. 6d. The firm .also sold, on account of Npuvhiro Marakaia, his interests in a lease at Fastwell, containing 325 acres, known aa Makarikiri. Several buyers were present from outside districts. Competition was very spirited, resulting in Miss Heckler, of Mangamahoe, being declared the purchaser at a considerable advance on the vendor's reserve. ' ■ .
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. report:—At Solway this week we had a very fair entry of both sheep and cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers," and competition was keen throughout the sale. We arc pleased to report a total clearance of sheep, but a few pens, of cattle were passed in. Small woolly hoggets made from 12s. lid. to 13s. Id.; 2-to.oth shorn wethers, Us. 6d. to 135.; empty ewes, 175.; calves, 325. 6d.; and bulls, to £6.

Levin, Otaki, and surrounding districts. , Wellington butchors were also in attendance, and purchased ■'. Several lots of fat slieop and cattle, aud we sold lightweight fat owes (shorn) at 145.; 7d.: shorn hoggets (mixed sexes), to 13s. 6d.; 15-month heifers, 8.W.8.. to £4; 2-yoar-old steers, to £4 155.; weaner heifers, to.'3ls. mixed ■weanors, to 263.
