NOT COMING THIS SEASON. • A cable message has been, received from Sail Francisco by Mr. W. G. Talbot, secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Ath T letic Association, stating that owinj to the withdrawal at the last moment of a prominent member of the team which was to ■ have toured New Zealand, the project has been abandoned for the present season. •
The team was to have sailed from Sari Francisco on December li and- arrive here on January 2. The news that this team is not coming will be a disappointment to all interested in big athletics .in New Zealand, and is regretted by the association, which has been put to some little expense in defraying the oost of cable messages, etc..
