\ PORTER V. HEGARTY. (Br CorrcsDonflenl) Hastings, December 3. ■ Considerable interest is being taken ia this district in the coming, contest, to take place in Hastings on December 11. between "Den" Porter, of Hastings, ana Hegarty, of Timaru. Both men have practically. an unbeaten record, and sportsmen all over the Dominion will, no doubt, watch the result. A keen contest took place between the Palmerston North, and Hastings box : ng officials for this match, but the local men left nothing to" chancei and sent an officer specially south to interview the Boxing Council and urge their claims to the fixture.
