MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE." A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket' Association was held at the Occidental Hotel last evening, Mr. M. Luckie presiding. A reply was received from the town clerk in. connection with a verbal application. made .by.. Mr. Luckie in respect to the question of making a charge for admission to the Basin Reserve on certain dates. The dates and the charges iu question, were: December 7 and 14, cup matches, Gd. per head; December 20 and 21, New South Wales teachers, Is. per head; December 2G, 27, and 28, South Melbourne team, Is. per head. The City Council decided to accede to the request, subject to the following condition:—"That the percentago collected by the council be 10 per cent, of the gross takings in lieu of 5 per cent, formerly collected, without prejudice of the right/ of the' council to reopen, the question at a later stage." The'secretary of the Petone Club wrote regarding a protest made by the Victoria College Club. From the text of the letter, it appeared that, in a third-class match between the College and Petone clubs, tho former protested that the Petone Club had played J. M'Kenzie and A. Bonnet, ■ two senior players, in the match. In reply to the protest, the Petone Club considered that, as the-two men, mentioned had not played in senior cricket this season, they could play in third-class matches. It was decided th hold over consideration of the matter. The Horowhenua Association wrote asking the Wellington Association to arrange a "match with the Horowhenua Association* at Levin, during the Christmas holidays. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a match.. _ The application from Hawkes Bay for an indication of the probable date of tho visit of the Wellington, team was left over until after the holidays. ' - It was decided to apply to the City Council for permission to charge for admission to the Basin Reserve on three davs during February on the occasion of the visit of the New South Wales team. It was decided that tho association had no objection to the Wednesday Association applying for the use of tho Basin Reserve' on January 21, 22, and 23.

THE BASIN RESERVE. The City Council's Reserves Committee has announced that the Basin Reservo would lie available for cricket matches today for the first timo this season. F<Sr a twofold reason, however, there is no prospect of the reserve being formally opened for matoli cricket, firstly, as the weather has been too 1 wet, and secondly that the matches in progress have to bo oompleted on the grounds on which they were commenced. THIRD-CLASS MATCHES. The following are the third-class matches for Saturday:—At Petone, Petone v. St. David's; at Hutt, Hutt v. Victoria College; at College. College A-v. St. Marks} at"College, College B v. North; at Karori, Karori v. - Brooklyn;' at Newtown, Y.M.C.A. v. Island Bay.
