g -:* A deputation from the Petone Council land citizens, headed by the Mayor, will viyait upon the Minister for Railways this afternoon, to urge certain alterations in the suburban time-table. The quarterly meeting of the Hutt Licensing Committee will be held at noon to-morrow, when the following transfers will-be applied for:-Taita Hotel, T. S. Bryan to F. P.'Tutte; Victoria Hotel, Petone, E. L. Barnes to J. M'Kechnie; Family Hotel.'Lower Hutt, H. Laivson if> R. Quinn. . The windinjAip meeting- for the ourrent .season of the Wellington Ministers' Assoiciation Ayasueld at Lower Hutt yesterday afternoon. The Rev. G. S. Cook read a very interesting paper, which evoked considerable discussion. Appreciative resolutions were carried with reference to the Rev. J. J. North and R«v. J. R. Clarke, for their • services to the association. Both ministers'will shortly leave the district. After business had been disposed of, lunch was taken at the Bellevue Gardens, and the afternoon was spent at the grounds, v.-.- ■ ■- ■ . Nicholas Bergs, the driver of a wagonette which met with an accident on Sunday at Lower Hutt, was (owingto injuries I received) conveyed to the Wellington Hospital yesterday. .'..-, , • The benefit entertainment tendered m I aid :of ■Mγ. Symes at His Majesty'a Theatre, Petone, last night, was well attended. In addition to pictures, musioal items were given by Mrs. Paton, Mrs. J. M'Ewan, Messrs. Connor, Rikks, Lpckyer, and Simpson. It is expected that the proceeds will be over .£2O.
