The Welsh Church property, he eaid, was the property of the Welsh people. The tithes were not paid by the rcerchants and coalowners, but by> the poor farmers, who built their own chapels, while the Episcopalian churches were maintained for the landlords. It would be better if the latter maintained, thedr own religion. Mr. Lloyd-George ia credited with stating that if the English Church does not tako care it will be disestablished next.
