FRONTIERSMEN'S LEGION.
MOVEMENT OUTSIDE THE ARMY, (By TeleETapa.-Siieclal Correspondent.) Auckland, December 2. Several men in a new and striking unl* form wore seen about the streets and 6a the show grounds on Friday and Saturday. The uniform was that of the Legion of Frontiersmen, which is now trying to organise in New Zealand. The uniforms consists of riding breeches and leggings, Garibaldi shirt with scarf, the Stetson hat, and belt and holster for automatic pistol. The legion boasts that/ every member has either seen active ser-' vice in'warfare, or has lived and worked in the wild places of the earth, or has qualified by reason of special training ia one or other of the divisions of the lesion. In the ranks are 6oldiers, sailors, guides, scouts, prospectors, explorers, bushmen, surveyors, transport riders and drivers, ex-mounted police,, engineers, bridge constructors, and representatives of many other frontier callings. It ■ie a noteworthy fact that already in the ranke of ihe legion in Auckland every British campaign during tho last thirty years is-re-presented, and a few of the men have seen service under foreign flags.
