CHURCH FAILURES AND WHY.
Tho speaker at the men's meeting of the Y.M.C.A. on Sunday afternoon was the Hon. C. M. Luke. The subject of his address was "Personal Responsibility" which each one should bear throughout life. He admitted that the churches, organisations for public welfare, Christian institutions, and Governments had at times undoubtedly failed in certain directions, and because of these failinge had been severely criticised, but he pointed out that all these institutions, etc., were composed of different units, and their failings were very often due, not to thepeople at the head of affairs, but to the lack of co-operation and unity between each individual in such institutions. Mr. Luke endeavoured to make it clear that each young man present was himself responsible for the welfare of his church, and according to the responsibility which was shouldered in Hie social welfare of thoir fellow-men, so would things improve, and according to the responsibility each shouldered of their churches and religious institutions, so would the mass be uplifted. .
Commencing iu the year 18C7, Queens Park Football Club did not have a- single goal scored against thorn during the nrst seven years of their existence.
