MEN'S BROTHERHOOD.
■ : .■ * " A meeting of the Wellington Men's Brotherhood was held in the New Theatre on Sunday, it being the-closing meeting of the 1912 seaeon. Special offerings were received as Christmas gifts for those m need, the response to the appeal for these being an excellent one. Dr. Whyto occupied the chair, and introduced Mrs. Blamires as the speaker. Mrs. Blamires stated that she had spent wme five years in the slums of London and Leicester, and she described Christmas scenes amongst the poor children of those cities. Mrs. Dowling, Mies Hazel Jeffrey, and Mr. Mayall contributed itoms towards a musical programme, and the Central Mission Silver Band, combined with the Boys Brass Band, rendered several choice selections, which were well received. The re-cently-organised Boys' Braes Band of forty members assisted at the five meetings of the Brotherhood yesterday, including the evening service in the New Theatre, ■ The Eev. G. S. Cook, who occupied the platform at the latter service, took for hie subject, "Getting to Knpw our Real Selves."
