MADAME KIEKBY LUNN. Madame Kvrkby Lunn and the members of her concert party, Mr. Andrew Shanks, baritone, Mr. William Murdoch, accompanist, M. Andre do Eibaupierre, violinist, and Herr AVielaert, accompanist, will give their first concert in the Town Hall tomorrow night. The famous contralto has just concluded an unusually brilliant season in Auckland, where each of her concerts attracted overflowing houses, and it need hardly be remarked that tho singer a artistic success was literally a triumph. The press'of Auckland were unanimous in their praises of Madame Lunu, and the AVellington concerts are expected to prove just as successful as those that have been given in the north, for the heavy demand lor seats which hase set in gives indication for a packed house to-morrow night. Messrs. J. and N. 'fait announce that the box plans are available for each concert at the Dresden, where five and three shilling tickets for to-niorrow can be obtained. At the opening concert Madame Lunn s numbers will include Brahm's "Eternal Love" and the "Sapphic Ode." Two newEnglish ballads, "Love is a Dream": (Percy Pitt) and "Morning and You" (Florence Aylward). The aria has not yet been definitely fixed, but Madame Luna will sing the famous old English ballad, "Three Fishers." The full programme will be announced, to-morrow. THEATRE-ROYAL. Another musical treat will be afforded patrons of'the Theatre Eoyal this e\ ening, when Messrs. Brennan and iuller announce the special engagement of the English contralto, Miss Bessie Slaughter. Not only is this lady the possessor of a rich voice, but she has a fine stage pesence, and will render favourite songs from her extensive repertoire. Another new turn this evening is that of Black, and Bronte, a pair of talented English sketch artists, in a pot pouri of English, Scotch, and American successes, introducing catchy songs and fascinating dances. Owing to tho success last week of the Jourdane Quartet, these clever vocalists nave been re-engaged to appear again this evening,'for one night only, in a new programme of gems from the iivourne operas. Bletsoe's Crimson Ramblers, now entering their fifth week'of success, will present another new programme of songs, specialities, and concerted numbers. Miss Ida Berridge, comedienne (in new- songs), Mr. Harry- Finden, eccentric comedian (in new burlesque acts) ,and the National Bioscope will complete a good all-round programme. .-' *■■•'.
FULLERS' PICTURES. "Italy's Sons of the Sea" is one of the prominent pictures which is to be stown at the-Skating Rink to-night. 'At the Cinema Show" and "Tho Sanctimonious Mr. Stout" are also on tlie programme./ KING'S THEATRE. "Pilgrim's Progress" will be wreened at the King's Theatre, to-night. Ike picture is an adaptation of John Eur-.yan s famous work. Among the other picluies will be "Two Bottles," and "Tho Awakening of Jones." . THE NEW THEATEE. . - • Full houses prevailed at the New- Theatre continuous pictures on Saturday aiternooa and evening, when the current programme appeared for the last. time. There will be two distinct new programmes to-day. The first will include •. Battle oi Trafalgar" (Edison naval drama), Auld Eobin Gray" (Vita, drama), "Niagara FallsV (new scenic), . Hogan's Alley; (Edison comedy), and "Indian Temples (travel). To-night the sensational circus story, "Tho Lion Tamer's R-evenge," will be introduced. This is described as a vivid romance of- modern life, in which twenty lions play an important part. A lion tamer is jealous of a young military officer's attentions to his wile. The husband . lets his lions loose into the ring, where he had'his wife and the officer bound eecurely. ~,, ,EM.PJSSS, a ;rHEATRE. Throughout Sahrida j afternoon and evening crowds patronised.;the Empress Theatre.' Prominently, popular . -is. the A B Company's exclusivo-'drai)ia,..-"The One She Loved," in which Miss Dorothy Nicholson plays a congenial _ part. - The.' young naval officer's sensational' adventure, entitled "Lieut. Daring Quells a Rebellion" is another favourite production. Tho A.B. comedies, "A Ten Carat Hero," and' "A Limited Divorce," and the Pasquali farce, "Polidor and His Mother-in-law" are irresistibly laughable; There are a number of other enjoyable items, including fopical and industrial films. The programmo. will be shown for the last time to-day, and to-night." Tomorrow the new series will introduce the latest A.B. exclusive "masterpiece" drama, "The Painted Lady," and a sensational incident entitled "Evading Justice." SHOETTS' .THEATRE. ■ A complete change of programme is announced at Shortts' Theatre to-day. The programme appears to be an unusually attractive one, including as it does "Max Outwits Nick," featuring ,the comedian Max Linder and Nick Carter, the ■ detective. The Vitagraph Co.'s "Saving an Audience" promises to be an exciting film also. Other new items are "Our Intrepid Correspondent," "Marjorie's Diamond Bing," and the latest. Gazette., PEOPLE'S PALACE. The People's Picture Palace, in Manners Street, was well patronised on Saturday, and patrons expressed decided appToval of the pictures submitted. A complete change of programme is to be made to-day. ' PILGRIM'S PROGRESS." To-night at the King's .Theatre W.osf 9 Pictures will screen "Pilgrim's Progress," a picture founded on John Bunyan s famous work. The film, of which the management -state that Hiey have the exclusive, right, is said to display with remarkable realism the many striking scenes in the world's most famous allegory. ' Included in the programme will also be two A'ifcagraph studies, 'The Two Battles," a realistic drama, in which Maurice Costello appears, and "The Awakening of Jones," which again introduces John Bunny and Miss Finch in a newcomedy role. "Pathe Gazette," an exclusive subject of AVesf s, will also form part of an attractive programme. Special niustfc for all the pictures will-be played by the King's Orchestra, under the coni ductorship of Signor Truda.
