A single woman named Mary Sheehan, 50 years of age, died suddenly at the residence of Mrs. Mary Mason, 17 ■Elizabeth Street, on Saturday evening. It appears that deceased had been employed as a hotel cook in Palmerston North up till November' 26, when she came to Wellington. Sho had been out shopping on Satuiday afternoon, and returned to 17 Elizabeth Street about tea time. At 7 p.m. she went into the scullery and fell on the floor. An attempt to rouse her some time later proved ineffective, and so Dr. Henry was summoned. On arrival he pronounced life extinct. An inquest will bo held probably to-day.
