The Governor-General of the Philippines telegraphs that a typhoon wrecked three-quarters of Macloban, and did great damage at Ka'piz: Other messages state that the bodies of natives, mostly Viscayans, aro lying in thousands over the islands. Kapiz has a population of twelve thousand, and half have been killed. . It is officially stated that 15,000 natives were killed orinju'red in the typhoon.
