FIRE IN MELBOURNE.
MEN JUMP PROM WINDOWS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. December 1, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, December 1. A fire in the post office lilock in Bonrke Street caused much excitement yesterday evening. It originated through an explosion in the rooms of the Williams Kim Company, and spread to Messrs. Suttdn Brothers' music .warehouse, the Albion Hotel dining-rooms, and some dressmakers' rooms, where a large number of girls were working. The police experienced difficulty in getting the girls out owing to panic. Several men jumped from windows, and were Injured, and one, Harry Martin, is suffering from a fractured skull. The outbreak was subdued in an hour. The chief loser is Mr. Williams, who has lost a quantity of valuable films and photographic material. An operator belonging to the' firm secured a moving picture of the fire.
