ENGLISHMEN'S TOUR HERE; • The Australian Association lias written to the secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association (Mr. Petherick) informing him that the members- of the English Davis Cup team—Messrs.. C. P. Dixon, : -A. E. Beamish, J. C..Parke, and S. G. Lowo have booked passages by.'the Jlarania 'leaving-' Sydney on Monday, December 16, and arriving at Auckland on ■ Friday, December 20. On-the following day- a>match : will be played between, the : Englishmen and tho representatives of New Zealand, Messrs. ,Geof. Ollivier, J. C. Peacock, F. M. : B. Fisher, and R. N. K. Swanston. The match will be continued on Holiday, December 23, and willbe played on the Eden and Epsom courts; The team will then visit Rotorita and Taupo, arriving in Hastings on Sunday, December 29, to play in the Australasian championships ; on December 30 and 31 and January .1. - They then leave on a visit to Christchurch, to play a match there on January i and G, and then proceed to Wellington in order to play the final match on January 8 and D, leaving for Sydney on January 10. The members of the New Zealand team to play against the Englishmen in Christchurch and Wellington will be selected later. . - . Brougham Hill A, at Brougham Hill; Trinity. .Church v. Wellington, at Day's Bay, 0 and .10; Island Bay, a bye. ' Men's, fourth—Johiisonville v.. Trinity Church, at Jobiisonville. Ladies' senior—Brougham Hill v. .Wellington A, at Brougham Hill: Newtown
v. Victoria College, at Day's Bay, 5 and 6; Wellington B, a bye. Ladies' junior—Trinity Church v. Brougham Hill, at-Day's Bay, 11 and 12; Newtown, a bye. Ladies' third—Brougham Hill v. Victoria College A, at Victoria College; Oriental 'v. Victoria College 13, at Oriental; Newtown -v. Trinity Church, at Day's Bay, 3 and 4; Island Bay, a bye. Note—All the matches in the men's grades set down for to-morrow in which Victoria College teams were to take part have been postponed until the end of, the round, owing to military obligations. THE LYALL BAY CLUB. At. the annual meeting of the Lyall Bay Bowling arid Lawn Tennis Club, Ltd., held last evening, following officers wero elected for tho ensuing season:— President, Sir. J. R. Tonks, W. 11. Slorrah, A. C. Blake, and J. Fairway. Tho official opening of the'club's season will take placo to-morrow afternoon,\when the president, Mr. J. R. Stansell, will speak. The Mayor will probably also be present.
