.THE WELLINGTON CENTRE. • A meeting of the Wellington- Centra pf, tlje N.Z.A.A.A. .was held in the Y.M.C.A. last evening, Mr.' R, W. Owing to the 'Basin/'Reserve-'not being available "on that date tha meeting, if held, will probably take place on Newtown Park., The- ffeilding A.A.' Club was granted January 8 as the' date on which to hold a sports meeting. . ' , ' Mr. W. J. -Hardham was appointed- the Petone Junior; A.A. Club's delegates'on the centre.. " - The Wellington Amateur Athletic Club notified that Messrs. L. W. Cozens and C., T.. Young had been elected to,, represent the club,on the centre. ■ ■ ' '.The'meeting decided not to sign. .the agreement regarding the proposed visit of the. American Athletes, submitted to the centre -by the council of the N.Z.A.A;A. The chairman stated that the centre had: offered a guarantee of i)6O, but- a clause in I'thi Agreement, if signed; -made the centre responsible for.. an unknown , liability. /Messrs.M'Villy, ■ Burnett, and Dunn 'were'. appointed a sub-commitee to deal with the. matter. The ; secretary was instructed to write' to the. counoil of the N.Z.A.A.A. informing that body that the centro would 'control ■; the New:. Zealand championships, since they have been alloted to Wellington city. ' • It was moved by Mr. Dunn and carried that the secretary write to the council, asking it to reconsider the application pf P. -Al'Coir for : reinstatement. The centre considered, that, as far as was known, M'C'oll had complied with the Tules governing, reinstatement. The AVellington Civil Service Amateur Sports Club was granted, permission to hold a meeting on Newtown Park 'on- Monday next. The club. was also .granted permission. to use the centre's gear .on that occasion. 'It was decided to approach . the City .Council re allowing athletes to train on apportion of the Basin Reserve. • ■i The Soatoun Club was. granted permission to hold an evening sports, meeting on December IS.
