Last night, after. the .close of business, the Ohief Post Office removed to the new office, and all : postal business will be conducted there from 8 a.m. to-day. Posting of correspondence will continue in both the new and old buildings until 8 p.m. today, when the old posting-boxes will be closed. Post Office business, with the exception of stamp sales, will be suspended from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to-day during the opening ceremony. Provision will be made at tho old Post Office counter, Customhouse Quay, for the sale of stamps. There-will be no afternoon deliveries by letter-carriers to-day. -The telegraph business will be conducted in the old building until farther notice. Telegrams, however, will be received at the now counter as well as at the present office in Customhouse Quay. The next best dispatch for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will bo via Brindlsi, closing at Wellington, por s.s. Manuka, on Friday, November 29, at 3.30 p.m. (Due London, January 3.)
