A horseman of his .ability is not likely to he on tho ground when 'the race is being run.

Monoplane, who has been showing winning form at suburban meetings in Sydney lately,. is a sure starter in the Auckland Cup, in which she has been weighted 7st. The daughter of Monoforin is being shipped from the New-South Wales capital to-moTrow, and will arrive in Auckland on Snnday. A returned visitor from Sydney, who flaw the mars racing there, states that she has improved a good deal, and he regards her as very well treated in the Auckland Cup; Were the more .to be nominated in the Sydney Cup, his opinion is that she would not get in with a. pound less than 7st. 12lb.

Teviotdalc, who was sold last week for 300 guineas, has gone into the stable presided ovor by G. J. Pine at Riccarton. Pine's principal patron is the Christchurch sportsman who races as "Mr. C. Machcll, and it is assumed that, he is the. new owner of Teviotdale. Bobrikoff, who iia.s been allotted Sst. Blb. in the Auckland Cup, ran sound to All Red in this race in 1908, and on. that occasion had Sst. 12lb. in '.he saddle. In view of the good form tho black horse showed at Riecartonj it looks as if tho handicfipper has taken a risk with him.
