o ■' (From Our Special Correspondent.) ■ Carterton, November 23.. Mr. and Mrs. Harkness, of, Clareville, left for Wellington on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Harkness is proceeding to Oaiiiaru, where she will spend,a lengthy hohdav, previous to joining her husband at Hamilton, for which place Mr..Harkness leaves next week. • _ •_ Miss IC. Booth, of the Wellington Hospital staff, is at present on a fortnights furlough, mid is staying with her people, at-'-'Hawarden," Carterton. ~ Mrs. W. W, Mansfield and family are at present on a holiday visit at Lyall Bay, Wellington. The opening of the West Ta rate hi Telephone extension was celebrated onTriday evening, wlien some fifty gentlemen, representing all branches of commerce, trade, and industry were present. Mr. W.,0. Buchanan; M;P., presided.
