November 24, s.ii p.m.) Melbourne, November 24. At tho Victorian tennis championships on Saturday there was a large attendance. The weather was cold. SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. Somi-final—Lowe (England) beat Marsh (New South Wales), 7—5, 6—4, 6—4. In the final, Parke (England) beat Lowe (England), G—3, 6—o, G—2. Parke was superior from the base-line, and Lowe was wearied by his effort in the semi-final. DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. Semi-final—Dunlop and Brookes (Victoria) beat Heath and Lycett (Victoria), 6—4, 6—2, 6—l. Interest in this match was keen, as the winners were likely to meet the Britishers in tho Davis Cup contest. Brookes's play was magnificent. Final—Brookes and Dunlop (Victoria) beat Parko and Beamish (England), 6—2, 6—4, 6—4. Tho Victorians played splendidly tpgether, surmounting impossiblelooking difficulties frequently. In the second 6et the Victorians quickly ran to 3—o, spectators thinking the match would soon end. In the third set there was a magnificent rally, in which Dunlop was brilliant. Dunlop served extremely well in the last two sets into the corner and along the lines, keeping the Britishers always moving. He was skilful in avoiding Beamish's strong back-hand. Brookes was in ■ his best form. Beamish was slow in striking form, breaking down frequently, on the volley. Parke was the better of the pair. {
