CARTERTON NEWS.

On Friday some 1276 cases of chieose were consigned from the local railway station. The dairy factories contributing to the total were:—Dalcfield, 500 cases; Parkvale, 260; Belvedere, '251; TaTatahi, 150; Carrington, 90; Longbush, 25. Mr. and Mrs.. Harkness were entertained .at a farewell gathering by the residents of Clareville on Thursday evening on the occasion of their departure for Hamilton. During the evening Mr. W. C. Buchanan, M.P., presented the guests of the-evening with a handsome set of carvers' and a travolling rug.
