LOAN TRANSACTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Eeo. November 20, 10.55 p.m.) London, November 20. A question in' the House of Commons on the practice of the India' Office of granting loans from the India reserve to financial institutions, revealed that a loan of a million liad keen granted to Samuel Montague and Company at. 2J .per cent. Mr. Faber gave notice to ask whether, as such loais are equivalent to making firms a present of one per cent, would tho India Office 1 in future deal direct with tho Stock Exchango and obtain a better return for their money.
