Thero was a lot of wrangling, and many warnings from tho Speaker. Explanations were given by Messrs. Wood,. Gardiner, and Price, who had also been added to tho list of delinquents. They were accepted. When it came to Mr. Moxhnm's turn to give his version of tho incident mentioned, ho declared that it was impossiblo for Mr. Perry to get "a fair deal." Tho Speaker immediately stopped him, and claimed that ho ha<l been grossly insulted. He asked tho Premier to .deal with Mr. Moxham. Mr. M'Gowen moved for Mr. Moxharh's ejection, and the motion was carried by 39 to 32. The Sergeant-at-Arms conducted ■ Mr. Moxham out amid Opposition cheers and uproar. The discussion of the Estimates was then resumed. At one point of the debate Mr. Willis strongly protested against the treatment of tho Chair had been subjected to, and said he w.buld have to consider how long he could remain in the chair if the Standing Orders were to be violated and the Speaker insulted. There is great public interest in tho debate, and the House is densely crowded. The Government backdown with regard to Mr. Perry and the others was decided on at a caucus held early in the day.
