Mr. Seaton, who is on his way to take charge of an Anglican parish in the South Island, arrived in Wellington by the Moeraki yesterday. Redmond, of the New-Zealand-General Post Office staff. Mr. H. W. Burgess, who has been for many years connected with the general and commercial printing business in Wellington, has recently joined the staff of The Dominion general ; printing department, in the capacity of city representative. Mr. Harold Gregson, .an Auckland organist, is at present a visitor to Wellington. 'There was a large attendance on Tuesday evening of the Kent Terrace- Presbyterian Church congregation to bid. farewell to the Rev. Hugh Beggs, who has occupied the pulpit for the last'' eight months. Mr. D. Robsrtson, who was in the chair,. spoke appreciatively of the way in which Mr. Beggs had fulfilled his task. In making a congregational premutation., of a purse of sovereigns, Mr. Wm. Hannay assured' Mr. Bcggs that ho had won the' confidence of the church in every department of work. Presentations were also made on behalf of the Voting Women's and Young Men's Bible Classes, and the ladies of tlio congregation gavo a pendant for Mrs. Boppp. In reply, Mr. Beggs expressed his gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the pastor, tlio Rev. J. Kennedy Elliott, tlio Moderator, the Rev. Wm. Sliirer, and tlio officebsarers of tlio church, and bespoke, n warm .welcomo for Mr. Elliott, who is expected to return to the Dominion next week. During tlio ovoning musical and elocutionary items wow rendered by tlio choir, a quartet parly, Miss Wilson, and Mr. J. S. Barton. Sir James Mills, managing director of the Union Steam Ship Company, who arrived at Auckland from England by tlio Marama on Tuesday, will bo in Wellington this'morning. Ho proceeds south by the Moeraki, which leaves Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day. Mr. Henry Chadwick arrived in Wellington from Sydney by the Moeraki yesterday. Mr. Chadwick has come over to manage Messrs. Fuller and Sons' new "His Majesty's," which is expected to bo opened next.month.
