MR. WILLIS'S RULE.

SIX MEMBERS EJECTED. ' SYDNEY BEAR-GARDEN. i By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, November 19. 'The 1 protracted sittings preparatory to the closing of the session disorganised the Legislative Assembly, and thoro was an extraordinary scene of disorder last night lasting nearly two hours. Six' members were ejected from the Chamber by order of the Speaker—Messrs. A. Bruntuell (member for Aiinandale), J. J. Cohen (Petersham), Daniel Levy (Darlinghurst), J. Fallick (Singleton), White, and W. H. Wood (Bega), the DeputyLeader of the Opposition. Mr. A. G. Gardiner (member for Newcastle) and Mr. T. R. Moxham (Pammatta) also came into collision with the Speaker (Mr. Willis), and were named. The troublo arose through the Ser-geaut-at-Arms reporting that Mr. Perry (Richmond), after his-removal, ordered during a recent sitting, had returned to tho House, and participated in the business in defiance of the authority of the Speaker. Tho Premier (Mr. M'Gowen) moved (hat Mr. Perry bfe adjudged guilty of contempt and suspended for a week. A series of angry scenes followed, and tho Speaker was accused of pctulanoe, of insulting' members, and of stifling the truth. His rulings were strongly resented Amongst others, three Ministerialists entered protests." i Mr. W. A. Holman, Attorney-General, tried to throw oil on the troubled waters, but the Speaker remarked that if he understood the Attorney-General was encouragingl opposition he would certainly deal with him. . The Speaker's reply to the charges was that the chair was paramount. If a member was ordered to withdraw that was sufficient. ... > The excitement continued to increase, and tho transaction of business was impossible.. Mr. Edden, Secretory, for Mines, suddenly moved tho adjournment of the debate, and aniid' uproar, Mr. Willis declared the motion carried, tho adjournment to be for to-day. Loud cheering, mixedwith groans from the Opposition, followed the announcement. , The fact that the Speaker's actions were strongly resented by, a number of Ministerialists as well as the Opposition has placed the Government in a'quandary. Mt. Gardiner,, ono of the members named by Mr. Willis, is a Government supporter. , As soon as the House Tose a meeting of Cabinet was summoned to discuss tho situation. • ' • Mr. Holman, in an interview, said that while supporting Mr. Willis over the Perry incident, -Mr. M'Gowen had decided to securo an adjournment of,the debate' to prevent further disorder. Interesting developments are expected. MR, PERRY SUSPENDED. , (Rec. November 20, 1 a.m.) \ .'Sydney, November 19.
