MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Dr. A. W. M'Arthur, S.M.) AN UNPAID BALANCE. S. Brown, Ltd., of Wellington, sued Hnra Paiata, of Waikanae, for the unpaid balance of an account fof soods supplied, llr. B. If. Ifirkaaldia appeared tor S. Brown, Ltd., and, Mr. W. J. Organ for Parata. Application was made to have J, S. Prosser joined as defendant, but this was opposed by Prober's coupsel (Mr/6. B. Morison), and disallowed by the Gourt. His Worship remarked-that Parata wight have a remedy against Prosser. The claim was for «£IBI Gs., which. w?.s described as a balance due for goods supplied. ' Mr. Kirkcaldio- stated that Earn Parata had siren Si' Brown, Ltd., an order for certain goods. The goods had been supplied, and in due course an account for them had been rendered +.0 ■ Parata. !' The account had not been disputed, and some money had been paid off the bill- It was the unpaid 1 balnnco which S. Ths, amount was said to bo due for the preparation of plans and. specifications for houses to be erected at Lower Hutt, It was stated that the account _had_ been rendered to Lodder during his life time. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop represented tho plaintiff, and Mr. Hay for the defendant. The Court reserved decision. UNDEFENDED CASE! Stephen Joyce was fined .£1 for having behaved in a disorderly manner, and .£1 for having resisted, arrest. Robert Davis and Joseph Kavanagh were each fined £1 for having broken the peace of Taranaki' Street by using threatening behaviour.' INSOBRIETY. For insobriety, Jessie Burns was- fined X' 3, and Peteir'Stewart 10s. ARBITRATION COURT. MUSICIANS, ENGINE-DRIVERS, AND COACHBUILDERS, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) 1 Christchurch, November 19. The Arbitration Court*s award in the professional musicians'' dispute fixes tho wages for theatrical performances, picture shows, public dauces, amateur operas, and outdoor'amusemonts, such as trots and races, as follow: —Regular performers, <£3 per week for six performances' and one-matinee; extra : niatinee, 10s.; casuals, 12s, per' performance; refreshment rooms, 2s. Gd. an hour. The award covers rehearsals. The award in tho engine-drivers' dispute jixes wages of first-class drivers at Is. 3jd. an hour; sccond-class, Is. lid.-; traction or locomotive certificates, Is. 3d.; uncertificated, Is.; firemen and greasers, Is'.; overtime, time'and a quarter; A week ox forty-eight hours is fixed. In the coachbuilders* dispute, journeymen carmakers, bodymakers, . wheelwrights, smiths, and trimmers get Is. 4Jd. an hour; leading hands, Is. a extra; overtime, time-and a quarter for first two hours; timo and' a half afterwards; double time on Sundays, and holidays.
