The beautiful spring weather wliiclt wo. have been treated to of late caine to . an abrupt termination. 011 Saturday last, when a cold, piercing wind sprang up, accompanied 'with heavy Bl ®6 t - sll ™f s ' while snow was visible on the higher ridges. The sheep.which had just; been shorned suffered -considerably. On tUe Mohaka Station" the Messrs. M'lvor suf-fered-a serious loss, borne five sheep, just shorn, were turned .out on "th'e beach preparatory :to driving a paddock. The storm broke, and the L? swept oyer' thein and . washed then. aw<iY« fill being drowned# >» •Mr. Eedwood, of "Spring Hill Station, has sold out at a remarkably good figure lo a purchaser from, the South Island. Mr. Eedwood, however, does not gne possession till after tho shearing is comnleted. Both Mr. and Mrs. Eedwood, who intend going south, will 1» much ""m^ssi's. 6 Bramrose and Galbraith, contractors, have just completed a road into | Willow Flat, Mr. Eosss station. lhe want of proper access into and from then homes has been severely .felt by tbo many settlers in these back-btocKs. An organiser, representing tho Sheaieis Union, has--been visiting the sheds about this locality. At Kakanki, where sheaiing has been in full swine for some day,, none of the shearers or sued hank bclon"ed to the union.
