THE CARE OF STOCK.
BUGGING ABUSED. The careful farmer who has the welfare of his stock at heart 'spends a few pounds on rugs for the animals, and ft few minutes night and morning putting on and taking off'the rugs. In some instances, however, the farmer grudges the time it takes to remove the rugs in tho day time and as a result cows and horses are allowed to roam about all day in a | sweltering sun with their rugs on. Naturally the stock is most uncomfortable all through the day and when the chilly night conies on the real benefit is not got out. of the rug. The above notes are prompted by a number of cases in point which have come under the notice of the writer in the past few days. The covering of cows or horses at night, even at this time of the year, is to be com-, mended, but the. russ should, unless tho day is very cold and bleak, be removed in the morning and replaced in the evening.
