Mr. Robert Gibson, foreman carpenter at the Petone Railway Workshops, retires on superannuation !at the end of this week. Mr. Gibson has been 38 years in the service, eighteen of which he- has spent at . Petone. He will ho tendered a r social evening at Petone next Saturday , night. The funeral of the late Mr. Robert i Davies, which took -place at Petone yesterday a'fte'rnoon, was largely attended, re--1 presentatives from the Commercial Club, 1 Petone Working Men's Club, and tho Central Club being present.
