Asked, during an interview if there were any indications that the tightness in the money market was disappearing the Hon. Jas. Allen (Minister for Finance) said that he thought that there were such indications. The newspapers during the past few days had shown that_ the stringency is not now so great as it was. If the great Powers were not drawn into the Balkans trouble it vras unquestionably the case that the settlement of the war would appreciably affect the tone of the money market. His own opinion was that questions arising out of the war, such as the divfsion of territory and do forth, would be settled amicably—at least, he hoped that they would be so settled. •
