LIGHT WAHTED ON TONCTE : ' POINT. / The following petition signed by a large number of shipmasters who were unable through absence from port to.eign the first ono has. been forwarded to tae Jlinister for Marine (the F, M. B. Fisher), praying that the proposed new lighthouse to be erected in Cook Strait should be ' placed on Tongue Point in preference to Cape Terewhitii— Siry-We., the undersigned mastermariners, who, through! being at.aea, and from other causes, were unable to sign tho petition recently sent; in to you, praying that Tongue Point should be decided on, aa the site for the proposed lighthouse in Cook Strait, herewith forward you our names in support of those f-hipmasters who have signed tho original petition..
