A Taratahi Wedding. Mr. Walter H. Spooner, second son of Mr. A. E. Spooner, late of Carterton, was married on Thursday afternoon at the residence of the bride's parents, West Taratahi, to Miss Myrtle A. Compton, second daughter of Mr. T. Compton. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of corded silk, and carried a sheaf of lilies. Her sister, Miss Elma Gompton, Miss Alice Pinhey (Wellington), and her little sister, Iris, were bridesmaids, and were all dressed in gowns of cream San Toy, with black hats. Messrs. C. E. Lee and R. Crawley were best man and groomsman respectively. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. Thompson, of St. Andrew's Church, Carterton. A large number of friends were afterwards entertained at a wedding breakfast, and the bride and bridegroom left later on their honeymoon tour, The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume, with hat to match. Australian-New Zealand Wedding. Mr. Frank Marks, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs, Marks, Raymond Street, Neutral Bay, Sydney, and Miss Ivy Emily Hislop, second daughter of Mrs. Hislop, Wai marie, Neutral Bay, and of the late Mr. Hislop, Dunedin, New Zealand, were married at the Neutral Bay Presbyterian Church by the Rev. R. H. Waugh, on the evening of October 21. The church was decorated with pink roses and foliage. The bride, who stood under a wedding bell, wore white charmeuse with paniers of ninon, trimmed with blonde lace, and. an old Limerick veil (worn by her mother on her wedding day), over a wreath of orange blossoms. The bridegroom's present to her was a pear and diamond posy ring, and a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. She was given away by her brother, Mr. James Hislop, and was attended by her sister, Miss Lily Hislop, in white chiffon voile over turquoise blue. Instead of a hat, blue tulle was worn, giving the appearance of an osprey. The bridegroom's present to her was a signet ring. The best man was Mr. L. Marks. A reception was held at Warringa Hall, where breakfast was held. The goingaway frock was a nattier blue cachmere-de-soie coat and skirt; large hat to match.
