MILITARY ANNOUNCEMENTS.
In the latest Gazette it is announced that his Excellency the Governor has approved of the award of a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decora'tkn to Lieu-tenant-Colonel Kenneth Mackenzie (teservo of officers 2nd Regiment), he Living a total rank and commissioned service, of twenty-two years. Chaplain, Ist Class, the Eight Reverend Bishop Charles Oliver jlules, MA., D.D., New Zealand Chaplains* Department, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces long service medal, having a total service of twenty years and nfty-eight days. • Lieutenant George Leonard Evans, Corps of New Zealand Engineers; having a' total service of twenty years and forty-eight days, has also been awarded' the Colonial Auxiliary Forces long service niedal.'' His Exoellency the Governor has also been pleased to approve, under Section 6 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909, of the formation of a Coast Defence Detachment of the 3rd (Auckland) Regiment ("Countess of Ranfurly's Own"), consisting of four infantry companies, with lieadquftrters at Auckland. The establishment of. officers will be as follows:—Lieutenant-Colonel (1), majors (2), captains (3), lieutenants (4), 2nd lieutenants (4). The services of .the. Greytpwn' Defence Rifle Club have been accepted. Thß headquarters are to bo at Greytown, in the Wellington military, district, and the tjisbandment of tho Gladstone Defenee Rifle Club has also been accepted.
