Lieutonant-Genoral Sir Edward Hntton (formerly Commandant of the New South' Wales Forces) presided a meeting to reconstitute the Bush Brotherhood of New South Wales, and made an appeal for funds. ' * - ' Sir George Reid (High Commissioner for Australia), Lord Tennyson (an ex-Gov-ernor-General of Australia), and other inifluential persons have promised their support. The Bush Brotherhoods have been formed to reach the scattered settlers on the huge areas of the Australian bush. - The • members live under, a simple rule, and make periodic circuits through the country surrounding their headquarters. In 'this w,ay they can cope more effectively and economically with the conditions of ' bush life.
