WAIRARAPA PROSPECTS.
A South Wairarapa farmer, who was in town last week, states that there is every prospect of a very good season. The lambing has been exceptionally good, and the ■losses on account -of Saturday week's storm were comparatively trifling, as the lambs were .well grown. A few newlyShorn sheep were lost here and there, but the majority of the sheep farmers had, owing to the generally adverse conditions, postponed shearing for a week or two to guard against eventualities. : Feed was plentiful and prospects were on. the whole very bright. ,
The annual fete of tho Cercle Litteraire Francais de, Wellington is to bs held in the Sydney Street Schoolroom 10-morrow evening.
