A Nelson Wedding. The marriage ot Mr. Etio Ernest Stuckey, of Wairarapa, to Miss Dorothy . - Bell, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs.-G. Langley Bell, of Nelson, which took place . at St. Barnabas's Church, i Stoke, on Tuesday afternoon last, wan a very pretty ceremony. The bride's <Iress was of. einbroidered chiffon oyer ntetv, with a veil and orange blossoms. Worn over hqnitpn lace cap. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet, and woro a pendant ot pearls' and peridots, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Stuckey, sister of the bridegroom,' was her bridesmaid, Hor dress was, of cornflower blue flowered muslin ovej- silk, with large black hat and cream bouquet —tho> bridegroom's gift was a tourmaline ■' brooch. Mrs. Bell, mother .of the bride, wore a grey silk crepelino trimmed with Oriental ..trimming, and. a large black and' grey hat to match. ■ . Mr. Wheeler, of Taihape, was the bast man. The church was. very prettily decorated and the wliolo appearaUce was most charming. Tho Hcv. J. P. Kempthorne officiated. From the City Council, ' Tho Wellington City Council, by resolution at its special meeting yesterday afternoon, extended its'sympathy and condolence to Dr. Sewman, in his bereavement. The mover (his Worship the Mayor, Mr. D. M'Laren), appreciatively referred to tho valuable services rendered to the city by Dr. Newman, in his past capacity as Mayor of Wellington, and to his publio 6ervices < generally. The. motion was carried in .silence, councillors standing. Yesterday morning a, funeral service, conducted by th'e Eov. A. ,M. Johnson, and attended by tho relatives and friends of the. late Mrs. A. K. Newman, was held in St. Paul's. The interment took place at Karori. Nursing Guild. The committee of the District Nursing Guild of St. John held its monthly meeting at the residence of Mrs.'W. H. Sefton Moorhouse .yesterday afternoon, when tho following members wore present:— Mesdames E. Ba.loombe r ßrown r W. H. S. Moorliouse, A. 13. Corrigan,. J, P. Luke, H. W. Preston, Miss M. Tho sfinior district nurse submitted •' tho report for October, which set forth, inter alia,, the number of patients receiving attention*which totalled'so. .Additional- patiorits registered, 21; patients, discharged, ,13; patients taken to the General and -Infec- ' tious Hospitals, (5. There were three dfcatha during the month., -Nurses Sexton and Macandrew paid 922 visits to the sick poor in their own homes. Gifts for the patients were > received from -Mesdames Eicliardson, Denniston, Tripe, Moorliouse, Macarthy, Ward, Baker, Goodrick, Itobieson, Oakley-Brown, Davidson, M'Morran, Christie, f)r. Kate Hogg, Stack, Ashcroft, Downhard, Wilson, "A Friendj" Luke, Prestpn, and the Gear Company.

Williamson, who is at present, in Florence with, his daughter Slarjorie, is feeling much benefited by his . visit to ono of the principal Continental, cures, Elites the correspondent of the "British .Australasian" of September 26. Mrs. Williamson and her younger daughter are due at Marseilles from Sydney to-morrow (Friday). They will join Mr. Williamson abroad. Later, the two girls Will continue their educational studies. . Miss Marjorie Williamson is a very gifted girl and a clever linguist. Mr. and Mrs. Parsons (Blenheim) and Mrs. Gale (Blenheim) have beeniia town-, on their way home from Gisborne. Mr. and Mrs. W. jt. Donnelly ia visiting Wellington. »' Miss Frances Hodgkins, the well-known New Zealand artist, arrives in Australia., this week by the Otranto from France. Miss Hodgkins is a'frequent exhibitor at the Paris Salon and the Royal Academy, London; had a work purchased by the Walker Galiery, Liverpool, and this summer was invited "to Sh,ow at the New English Art Club. Miss N. M'Dougalij who has been visiting Mrs. Butts, at Newtown, leaves for Martinborough to-day.
