The fruit was lauded in excellent order, and the quality left nothing to lie desired. Very few Tasmanian applets are now coming forward. A few New Zealand-grown applet from the Christchurch cool stores are coming on this market, a few New Zealand lemons are «lso available.

It is not likely that there will be any quantity of wlioat shipped, owing to prospects of a short crop in the coming eeason, the bulk of the exports arranged for being oats and pear*. Potatoes arc still firmer in coiipciiu:nce of good demand and short supplier. Prices are £7 16-. to £8 at country stations, according to distance, and offerings are becoming very tunall.
