MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.
Tho last ordinary meting of this session of the Sydney Street and Northland Primitive Mcjliodi'st .Mutual Improvement Society was held last evening, when there was a large was alarge attendance, tho president (Kcv. P. J. Cossum) occupying the chair. Tho evening was taken up with tho reading of tho society's journal, "Kα Ponekc." Tho articles, which wcro all contributed by Members, were both instructive and amusing, and in many inslnces displayed- much originality 'and literary ability. Heartiest thanks irerp passed to tho editor (tho Rev. P. J. Cossum) for tho excellent manner in which tho journal had been edited. During tho evening a pianoforte solo was contributed by Miss Pear! Tuekwell, and a recitation by Miss Vera Collins. Befnro the termination of tho meeting an appreciative vote of thanks was accorded to tho executive officers for tho interest they had manifested throughout tho session.
