INFERIOR & UNSOUND HORSES.
VICTOEIAN .VETERINARY INSPECTION. , The Victorian Government Veterinary Department has this year examined 891 stallions submitted for the annual cer- , tificato of soundness, as compared with 979 last year, 813 in 1910, and 757 in 1909. Of this year's applicants 701 were found to be sound, and 190 unworthy of tho certificate; last year a slightly higher proSortion was rejected. The 894 submitted lia year included 707 draught horses, of which 19.51 per cent, were'rejected; 131 light horses, 23.6 per cent, rejected; and , 56 ponies, 37.5 per cent, rejected. As in previous years, sidebone/ was the chief cause, 9.47 per cent, of the draught horses being at fault in that respect. Tho rejections on account of low type of breeding were 51 draught horses (7.63 per cent.), and 19 ponies (33.93 per cent.).
