BOYS' INSTITUTE.
SUNDAY EVENING ADDRESS. Owing to the unavoidable absence of tho Hon. W. F. Massey, Prime Minister, the service for boys at the Boys' Institute last evening was addressed by Mr. Gi M. Thompson, M.P. He spoke to the boys about St. Augustine and the work he' did for England. He related the incident of the English lx>y slaves who were seen at Rome by the monk Gregory, which inspired him with a missionary enthusiasm, to preach Christianity Jo the English race. Gregory's opportunity arrived when he became Pope, and ho sent St. Augustine to be the first missionary to England. As a result. England slowlv became a Christian nation. The speaker then dealt with the central theiuo of Augustine's belief, which was expressed in the words: "Thou hast made us for Thvself and our heart finds no rest, until it 'rests in Thee." He counselled each boy to do what he could to realise those words bv doing something good every div in tho lifo of the home or of the school and ho urged every boy to do what no had to do, whether at work or at play, with all his might. At. the conclusion of the address the hearty thanks of the meetin" were conveved to the speaker. During the service Mr. W. Gcudie sang the sacred solo, "Ncarc My God to Thee."
