PICTURE SHOWS.

FULLERS' PICTURES. If there be any who would havo their feelings stirred by one-of the most gallant feats of arms and dogged endurance they should visit the Ingestre Street Kink, and there see the striking picture, "Tho Relief of iucknow," which is presented realistically with the aid of a British regiment as actors. It will be shown again at this afternoon's matinee, and this evening "A Child's Remorse" and "The Captain of the Nancy Lee" are other good pictures w*U worth seeing. A further change of programme is duo on Monday evening. KING'S THEATRE. Tho capital programme which has entertained large "houses" at the King's Theatre during the week will be presented again this afternoon' and evening. The pictures include the war "thriller," "The French Spy," and "A Child's Remorse." On Monday and for tho three successive nights a West exclusive photo-play, "Vengeance is Mine,"' will be exhibited for the first time in New Zealand. It is a love romance of the studio, in an artistic setting. A special gift matinee will be given this afternoon. EMPRESS THEATRE. A complete change of programme was screened at the Empress (late Adelphi) Theatre yesterday and last evening. The eamo programme will ho given to-day and on Monday, and another change will lie screened on Tuesday. One of the best items is entitled "A Child's Remorse." It is by tho A. B. Company. A party of children instigated to action by the proverbial "penny dreadful" play in a realistic way at being pirates. A quarrel jmong themselves lends to the ostracism of one of their number, who is left sulking on the beach. The others go off in. search of adventure. Seeing a motor-boat tied to the slips, they pirate it and start off down the bay. As a matter of fact the boat is unsafe, but only the child left on the beach knows.this, and she, meditating revenge in a childlike way, on account of the ostracism, informs 'no one of the condition of the boat. When well out in the bay> the boat tills and begins to sink, leaving the children in danger of drowning. The remaining child, smitten with remorse, hastens to make known the condition of affairs, and two swift launches set out to the rescue. Quite a ■feature of the picturo is the scene showing the two rescue boats speeding over the water, leaving a gurgling wake behind them. The boats arrive just in time and the youthful adventurers are saved. "How She Conquered" is a simple domestic drama of every-day life, and "The Capture of a Ply" is an amusing comic telling of the sad misfortunes that befell a man.in his frantic endeavours to settle accounts with an irksome, fly that has been parading on his head. After strenuous efforts involving the partial destruction of his room, the man succeeds in . catching his enemy, which ho proceeds to fry in true sportsmanlike manner. Other items include: "Saved'by a Cipher" (trick comedy). "Sports in Mogsyland," and 'T. C. Hawkeye, Sportsman" (comic). . NEW THEATRE. The, Tegular bi-weekly change .was screened at the New Theatre yesterday, and the new programme is a good one; One of the best items is the comic "OneRound O'Brien." As a rule comic pictures are inferior and attract less attention than the dramatic filnis, but "OneRound O'Brien" has the sterling merit of being really amusing and original. O'Brien and a friend are badly in need of a little loose change,,and seeing .an. advertisement relating to prize-fighting, they interview the manager and enter into an agreement with him. By this agreement O'Brien is to knock out' allcomers in one round for a stake of ■ 25 dollars. O'Brien and his friend agree that the.friend shall stand behind a hanging tapestry with a mallet, and when O'Brien is in need of help lie will pushhis opponent's head against the'hanging tapestry while his friend gets to work with the mallet. O'Brien has to deal with is rather- a weakling, -and' O'Brien has no difficulty with him. The second is somewhat more troublesome; but the timely intervention of the.mallet gives O'Brien anoth'erv win. The third man. is enormous, and O'Brien : has misgivings. However, a talk with his friend 'behind the-screening"gives him . courage, and ti\e assault begins. A whack on the.back "of the head makes the big man.suspect things, so he backs O'Brien up against the screening. Faithful to iis friend, the'man with the mallet once more sets to work, and O'Brien is severely damaged. The manager waxes angry at having to pay up, and so O'Brien goes round and squarfs accounts with his friend. "Sheep Shearing in New Mexico" and "A' Modern Ananias" are also good films. The Rex drama, "Eyes that See Not,", and "Repaying the. Debt" nre among the best of the pictures, and, to those who prefer dramas, they will top the list. Tin's programme will be screened throughout to-day, and, on Monday, a now star item— A Sicilian Tragedy"—: will be screened for the first time.
