RECIPROCAL TRADE.
4 OVEESEA DOMINIONS' CONFEK-* ENCE. Whilo the Imperial Trade Commission is in Australia a conference of representatives from the oversea Dominions will be held. The Hon. A. Fisher, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, has already signified his approval of the conference, which has been proposed by the New Zealand Government, but no reply has yet been received from tho Union of South Africa to the New Zealand Government's request. Tho Hon. I'. M. B. Fisher has, however, received a letter from tho Hon. Mr. Foster, Canadian Minister of T, ade and Commerce, in which he says: "I have received your letter of Aug"ust 21, calling attention to a paragraph in the New Zealand Budget in reference to a meeting of the Ministers of Trade of the' four Dominions. The Government of which I am a member will very cordially join in the proposition that you have outlined. Kindly keep informed as to tho progress of the negotiations. I shall be. very glad to hear of their being brought to a successful conclusion." The conference is to bo held in Melbourne, probably about the end of March next or early in April.
